5 Signs Your Web Host Is Costing You Customers

Radahost Team · 20 June 2026

Most businesses only think about their web host when something breaks. By then, the cost has already been paid — in lost sales, frustrated customers, or a weekend spent on hold. Here are five signals it’s time to look elsewhere.

1. You find out about downtime from a customer

If your hosting provider doesn’t proactively monitor and alert you to outages, you’re relying on customers to tell you your business is unreachable.

2. Support can’t answer specific questions about your site

Generic ticket-queue support that has never seen your actual website will always be slower than a team that built or migrated it themselves.

3. Your site has gotten slower and nobody can explain why

Shared hosting resources get oversold by some providers. If page speed has quietly degraded and support has no clear answer, it’s worth an independent speed audit.

4. Backups are something you have to ask for

Automatic, verified backups should be standard on any reputable hosting plan — not a manual process you have to remember to trigger.

5. Migration sounds harder than it should be

A confident host will migrate you in, and be equally confident (if a little less enthusiastic) about migrating you out. Hesitation or high “exit fees” are a red flag.

If more than one of these sounds familiar, it may be worth a second opinion. Radahost offers free hosting migrations with no downtime, and our team will give you an honest read on whether your current setup is actually the problem.
